Retiree Organization Endorses Seth Magaziner for Congress
Cites His Commitment to Expanding and Protecting Earned Social Security and Medicare Benefits
PROVIDENCE – Members of the Alliance for Retired Americans have announced the endorsement of Rhode Island State Treasurer Seth Magaziner for the U.S. House of Representatives for Rhode Island’s 2nd Congressional District.
The Alliance has more than 26,000 members in Rhode Island.
The members of the Alliance in Rhode Island trust Seth Magaziner to look out for older people in Washington. He will defend Social Security against any cuts or risky schemes,” said Roger Boudreau, an Alliance for Retired Americans regional board member. “Mr. Magaziner will also work to expand Social Security and strengthen the system by asking the wealthiest Americans to pay their fair share.”
“The stakes couldn’t be higher for seniors. We need Seth Magaziner in the House of Representatives fighting against any Republican plan to cut or ‘sunset’ Social Security and Medicare,” emphasized Mr. Boudreau. “Just this week four senior House Republicans discussed their ideas for changing Medicare and Social Security as we know it – including raising the retirement and eligibility ages and spending caps. We know Seth Magaziner will be with us on the front lines of the fight to protect and strengthen retirement security and we are proud to endorse him.”
